A. Participate in and Conduct TFH Committee Member Training
Each Ward TFH Committee adult member will attend at least 9 of the monthly TFH trainings provided by the Stake.
Training topics related to Ward TFH work will be included in each TFH Coordination meeting. Topics will include a review of documents, videos, Church website materials, the General Handbook, and other information related to TFH Coordination Meeting participants’ callings.
Ward TFH Committee adult members will register for and attend at least one session of RootsTech (Feb/March), annually.
B. Encourage Temple Attendance
Bishopric, Ward Clerk, and Executive Secretary will work with adults and youth to help them obtain and renew temple recommends.
The Ward TFH Committee will organize two ward temple trips each year (in addition to the formal youth temple trips and the informal or formal EQ-sponsored or RS-sponsored temple trips/outings)
The Bishop will schedule three sacrament meeting talks each year that focus on TFH work (youth, sister, brother).
C. Help Members Embrace FamilySearch
Bishopric will ask youth during annual and semi-annual interviews whether they have completed their 4-generation family trees, and notify the TFH Committee, as appropriate.
The TFH committee will survey the ward to understand who needs help with their four generations.
Each TFH consultant will strive for an in-home visit 1x per quarter to complete their four generations.
The Ward TFH Committee will work with parents to encourage children and youth ages 8+ to set up a FamilySearch account and teach Ordinances Ready to all incoming youth.
D. Involve members and nonmembers in Family History Work
Ward and youth leaders will encourage all youth to use Ordinances Ready and other family research to bring their own names to the Temple every time they attend. The goal is a year over year increase in the number of youth submitting names to the temple.
At least two times during the year Ward TFH consultants will conduct activities/challenges designed to encourage increased member participation in Indexing and other FamilySearch activities. At least one of these activities will include a community outreach event.
Bishopric will approve one 5th Sunday TFH lesson each year.
